Mixing Instructions

The Martinez made its first print appearance in the 1884 book, “The Modern Bartender’s Guide” by O.H. Byron. But it’s likely that the cocktail predated the book by a decade or more.

Ingredients

1.5 oz Old Tom Gin
1.5 oz Sweet Vermouth
0.25 oz Maraschino liqueur
2 dashes Angostura aromatic bitters

Notes

Stirred until well chilled. Served up in a coupe or martini glass. Orange twist to garnish.
